Question for All Gubernatorial Candidates: Would You Release and Implement the Block Waste & Fraud Report?

Yesterday on WPRO‘s John Depetro Show, John Loughlin, filling in, interviewed gov candidate Ken Block. A caller asked Block to release the waste and fraud report that his company had prepared for the state earlier this year.

Quick background. Governor Chafee did not release the whole report, only what amounted to a tantalizing summary. The RI Center for Freedom & Prosperity did some calculations and came up with an estimate that the waste and fraud identified in the report could be as high as, and possibly higher than, $185 million per year.

In response to the caller, Block stated that, if elected governor, he would both release the report and implement it. However, as his company is the vendor to the state, he is contractually precluded from releasing it now.

But that raises a great question for all the gubernatorial candidates:

If elected governor, will you release and implement the waste and fraud report prepared for the State of Rhode Island by Simpatico Software?
