Caprio Running For Treasurer, Again?

According to an article in today’s Providence Journal, former RI State Treasurer and former candidate for Governor is going to run for Treasurer again.

The immediate thought that I have is that he already was the state’s treasurer. Additionally, when he was running for Governor, he was questioned about the health of the state’s pension system and he said that it was fine. No major concerns. Fast forward a few months, Gina Raimondo in office and now there’s a catastrophe brewing that required a major overhaul of the system.

What I’m left with is if Caprio couldn’t manage the pension system previously, or maybe he didn’t understand it, or worse, he lied to us, then why would we want to put him back into that position?
