In The Dugout: What’s really dividing America

  • Lou

You guys are out of your mind. Ignoring treasonous behavior and dropping impeachment is your path to unity? I don’t think so. It funny how you hypocrites can ignore the Constitution and then wrap yourselves in it whenever it’s convenient. You’re about as principled as the Orange Fuhrer.

    • ShannonEntropy

      Again… example please

When did Mike ever “ignore the Constitution” ??

      • Lou

        From Fox News, no less:

Napolitano outlined three recent directives from Trump and explained how they violated the Constitution. The first was the president’s order to Acting Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan to not purchase a missile defense system approved by Congress and instead use the funds to construct a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border. Second, the former judge cited Trump’s order to send troops to secure the border, pointing out how it violated the separation of powers, because the president’s oath does not allow military forces to be deployed to deal with domestic issues. Napolitano also argued that Trump’s decision to impose 25 percent tariffs on Chinese goods was akin to levying a “national federal sales tax” on American consumers, which the president did not have power to do under the Constitution.

Where was the outcry from our “patriots”?

        • ShannonEntropy

This may come as a surprise to you, Loo, but this site is about RHODE ISLAND

Maybe that explains why the “patriots” — you say that like it’s an insult — here haven’t talked about missile defense systems, the wall with Mexico, or Chinese tariffs

And for someone who’s been “banned” you sure seem to still post a lot here

    • Portia

Well, Justin is starting to look more and more like a wannabe Goebbels.

      • Lou

Ironically, Trump’s election fabrication(s) has also been named the “Big Lie”. It’s pretty evident how to see how fascism evolves, especially if it’s proponents aren’t’ called out and challenged.

      • Rhett Hardwick

When he starts talking abut his cyanide capsule, I’ll begin to worry about that one.

  • Rhett Hardwick

In news reports, I have read of “A violent, armed mob of Trump supporters” and “confederate flags”. In that video news that I saw, I recall neither. Am I incorrect?

    • Justin Katz

I think the report I saw counted two Confederate flags. One of the holders has already been arrested. I get the impression the “armed” description hinges on the likelihood that some Trump supporters in the larger rally were legally carrying their guns and the probability that the media is playing loose with the term, so as to include anything that might be used as a weapon, from a baseball bat to a crutch. Pictures and videos aside, note that not a single Capitol police officer appears to have been shot.

      • Rhett Hardwick

I noted that, and still await a high profile investigation of the shooting of Ashli Babbit

        • Justin Katz

I suspect you’re in for a long wait.
