03/08/12 – House Labor on Binding Arbitration: Carnevale Provokes Nadeau

Thus far, the committee hearings that I’ve attended at the General Assembly over the past few weeks have displayed impressive decorum.  The one exception came during the House Labor hearing related to binding arbitration and evergreen contracts.  After an impassioned testimony from Warwick School Committee Member Eugene Nadeau, imploring the committee not to let binding arbitration go beyond its review, Rep. John Carnevale (D, Providence, Johnston) bated him with condescending argumentation.

The tension doesn’t translate as well on video (facial expressions and some voice inflections aren’t well captured), but the two-minute clip is a mix between Abbot & Costello and debate team bullying.
