Being in Israel while Rockets Fall and the Vital Partnership of Christians and Jews
In this episode of Deep Dive with the RI Coalition for Israel (RICI), hosted by RICI’s Executive Director Maria Friedman, we dive head first into what it is currently like in Israel during the current war with Iran based on Tricia Miller’s recent experience living there in Feb and March (and having to stay longer because of the war). Tricia Miller, Director of CAMERA’s Partnership of Christians and Jews, emphasizes that this war isn’t just between Iran and Israel, but it’s also between Iran and America. Iran has been chanting “Death to America” since 1979 and has killed many Americans since. They seek to destroy anyone who does not want to bow down to their version of sharia law or oppressive Islam. Tricia recounts being amazed by the resiliency and strengths of the Israeli people who are used to sirens going off daily and hourly in many places during this current war.
Tricia and Maria explore the vital partnership between Christans and Jews and why it is so important that Christians support Israel. Support for Israel should be biblical, not political. They discuss some common myths and lies about Israel, such as the blatant lie that Jesus was Palestinian, and how many of these lies seek to erase entire chapters or centuries of Jewish history and presence in the Middle East. Replacement theology and other lies perpetuated by certain Christian groups are part of the problem, and Tricia and her team at CAMERA (Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis) are addressing this issue head on and share key resources on their website, cameraspartnership.org, which provide accurate information on the topic of Israel and the Middle East.
