Former Cranston mayor and one-time candidate for US Senate Steve Laffey Announced Thursday (2/2) he will challenge former President Donald J. Trump and others for the GOP nomination in the 2024 presidential race.
In the statement he released to the media on Thursday morning, Laffey said: “This next period in the United States calls for a financial expert. We do not need another lofty businessman, nor another career politician. We need someone to guide this country in the right direction.”
Laffey intends to spend up to three months in New Hampshire prior to the state’s first-in-the-nation primary to “speak to every single group” and “to meet every single person”.
