Providence, RI – Lawrence Gillheeney of the Rhode Island Center for Freedom & Prosperity was inducted into the 1995 Society during America’s Future’s Northeast Regional Showcase & Polo Match this weekend.

The 1995 Society honors young leaders whose bold impact advances freedom in their communities. Since its founding, it has recognized the best, brightest, and bravest rising stars in the liberty movement.

He received the Buckley Award for lifetime service to freedom. The award, presented by America’s Future, highlights leaders whose long-standing contributions strengthen the next generation of conservatives.

Gillheeney was recognized for more than a decade of service to the cause of liberty, his record of high-level donor leadership, and his work as Northeast Hub Director for America’s Future, where he has built one of the strongest regional communities of young leaders in the country.

In addition to his role at America’s Future, Gillheeney serves on the Leadership Council of the Rhode Island Catholic Foundation, where he has advanced philanthropic support for the most needed charitable causes.
He is managing editor of the Ocean State Current, where he has broken numerous national stories, been cited in congressional testimony by the Heritage Foundation, and served as a constant advocate for good government and conservative values.

He is also a board member of the Gaspee Project, a grassroots initiative dedicated to restoring accountability and transparency in Rhode Island government.

Gillheeney directs the Dr. Daniel S. Harrop Fatima Fund, a philanthropic initiative that supports faith and civic institutions across the region.

Past Buckley Award winners include Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA; Justin Owen of the Beacon Center of Tennessee; Garrett Ballangee of the Cardinal Institute for West Virginia Policy; Matt Warner of Atlas Network; and Austin Berg of the Illinois Policy Institute.

Joining Gillheeney in the 1995 Society was Conner Drigotas, whose work with Inside Investigator has advanced transparency and accountability through investigative journalism, giving citizens the tools to push back against corruption.

Since 1995, America’s Future has been the premier nationwide network for liberty-minded young people, providing opportunities to learn the ideas of liberty, sharpen leadership skills, and put them into practice through chapters, events, and fellowships.
