The Left are the real extremists when it comes to abortion policy
Who really holds the extreme position on abortion?
The Rhode Island House of Representatives will vote this coming Thursday, April 27, on a bill (2023 — H5006) that will allow for state taxpayer-funding for abortion-on-demand in Rhode Island, both through the state-managed Medicaid program and through state employee health benefits programs, by removing statutory prohibitions thereupon that have been in place since the seventies. Please keep in mind that these prohibitions already permit state funding for abortions performed in the so-called hard cases of rape, incest, life of mother.
Rhode Island Right to Life requests that concerned citizens take a moment now to email your State Representative with a brief and respectful message that you do not want your tax dollars paying for abortions.
Conservatives, even though most don’t realize it, hold the mainstream views on abortion. It is the liberal and progressive Left that is out of synch with the populace.
Constitutional conservatives believe there should be no (zero) federal role when it comes to pro-life or pro-choice questions. This is 100% a states-rights issue.
While most on the right in Rhode Island accept that public policy should match the opinion of 70% of Rhode Islanders that some level of choice be available; the right also believes that public policy should match the 75% of Rhode Islanders who believe in firm restrictions on the gruesome practice.
Virtually all restrictions are rejected by the left. It is they, in reality, who hold the ones who hold the extreme views on abortions, including:
- Almost everyone on the Left supports TAXPAYER funding of abortions … forcing religious and moral citizens to have their hard-earned tax dollars spent on procedures they find fundamentally wrong
- Almost everyone on the Left supports third-trimester and partial-birth abortions
- Almost everyone on the Left supports after-birth abortions (former VA governor)
- Almost everyone on the Left supports minors undergoing abortions without parental consent … as a strong supporter of parental rights when it comes to the health and education of their children
