It’s preposterously REgressive to return back to an era before girls became protected in their own sports league. Allowing males in girls sports is an actual violent act of endangering and CANCELLING female rights and is a slap in the face to anything good that could have ever come from a so-called feminist movement. Bravo and respect for male athletes who want boys and men out of girls and women’s spaces. Ellen Barrington
Unfair advantage and risk of injury Kenneth Cranston

IT is a biological and moral perversion to allow males to play
sports with woman. This sickness must stop!!!!!
Guy Wakefield
There are only two sexes. This should not even be an issue!
Boys are larger and stronger…this is CRAZY and should be changed NOW.
john Narragansett
Fairness and common sense! Women’s sports are for BIOLOGICAL females. who need and deserve an even playing field that excludes MEN. Males biologically have competitive advantage. Girls must be protected from being physical injured by MEN in competitive sports. Girls must be protected from facing nude and leering men in women’s locker rooms. Girls and women deserve the just rewards of their efforts, free of men stealing hard-won deserved awards and titles. These are women’s rights we fought for and won with Title IV, before Biden’s insane executive order ruined women’s sports. It’s been a disgraceful new cultural low, cruel and un-American. Jean Wakefield
The obvious difference in the physiology between men and women should preclude the fair competition between the sexes. I support the fact that there are only male and female not a plethora of sexes. Bill Charlestown
This should be common sense. Children deserve to be protected and women have fought too hard for so many years to get to where we are. Taking away our safe spaces and our right to have female-only teams/sports is a huge step backwards! Jennifer Warwick
Title 9 needs to be upheld for women in sports Donna Bradford
Common sense. Nick Johnston
men are physically stronger than women, them playing in sports gives them an unfair advantage against biological women. As simple as that. Adam Cranston
Boys/men in women’s sports is insane. Any elected official who supports this insanity is not worthy of my vote. Smarten up! Joel Wakefield
I think we all must support women’s rights and safety Christopher Barrington
Biological post-puberty males have a physical strength advantage over females. Daniel NARRAGANSETT
Males are biologically bigger and stronger than women. To let a biological male compete against girls is shameful, I am 100% opposed to it! Russ Cranston

There has long been an honored tradition to create a fair match in competitive athletics, whether it be by weight, age group, or gender. In wrestling and boxing opponents are separated and grouped by weight. In road-racing, they are separated and grouped by age. In junior athletic competitions age is always a factor. Separation of competitors by gender in the post-pubertal age group has been a standard for centuries. All of this has evolved out of respect for fairness and to protect smaller, less physically strong competitors from being injured by larger more powerful competitors. No valid reasons are given for overturning this long tradition of fairness and safety-mindedness. It must stop. Mark Providence
Michelle Woonsocket
I believe in fairness. There are biological differences. Ian Warwick
We are obligated to protect our children from harm. It is a fact that males are built different than females, bigger & stronger no matter how many hormones they take. It is a disgrace to allow boys into a girls locker room where boys’ genitals can be seen!!! Lastly, giving unsuspecting boys female hormones is like a Nazi scientific experiment. Shame on the medical community! We stopped the widespread prescribing of hormones to women because it proved to cause breast cancer. What makes us think that giving hormones to children will have a good outcome long term? An abomination! Debra Cranston
My hope is that some day transgender athletes will be able to compete against each other. As the oldest of 4 girls, growing up there were relatively no girls sports available except intramural in our school.
We waited a long time. hopefully the transgender won’t have such a long wait for their own teams to emerge. I believe there should be a level playing field and it isn’t when transgender athletes are included in girls sports.

Girls have a right to safe spaces and safe, fair competition and opportunities for scholarships. Suzanna West Kingston
Girls who see an unfair playing field and a low chance of fairness in competition, an increased risk of injury, and girls names on records being blotted out by male at birth persons will ultimately stop competing due to the level of unfairness. You will then see less girls trying out for sports reducing self esteem and physical benefits of exercise. Not yo mention putting the athletes now in the spotlight as they have to decide at a young age if they will fight this political cause themselves by standing up to the adults in the room and calling out the unfairness by refusing to play or speaking against it. Iris North Kingstown
I support the Rhode Island Center for Freedom & Prosperity’s petition to protect girls’ sports and call on the RIIL to repeal its policy allowing biological boys to compete in girls’ athletics. This policy violates Title IX, undermines fair competition, and endangers female athletes. Biological and biblical truths affirm that there are only two genders—male and female—and males have inherent physical advantages over females. RIIL must comply with federal law, uphold fairness and safety, and immediately repeal Article 3, Section 3B to preserve the integrity of girls’ sports. Mary Anne Providence
Im a father of three girls and I think boys do not belong in womens sports. Angel Johnston
Biological females should never compete against biological males. Biological males have a completely unfair advantage over biological females and in certain sports there would be serious safety concerns. Let biological females compete on fair grounds against biological females. Protect biological women. John Lincoln

I played many women’s sports in grade school, high school and college. It was character building and motivating. It would be extremely demoralizing to work so hard and ultimately compete against men who are BIOLOGICALLY stronger than women. Wholeheartedly unfair. Jennifer Coventry
There are clear differences in physical stature between men and women. If a male wants to become a female, that’s fine but they will need to play the sport with the gender they were assigned at birth or start a trans league. You’re putting too much physical and mental stress on women by allowing men to be in their personal space and on the field. Ryan Cumberland
As a woman with a strong independent and competitive spirit, I raised my daughter to be the smart, confident woman she is, through sports and academic opportunities. Now, I have three young granddaughters who are also being raised to understand their achievement and success are limited only by their choices, hard work, and determination. But, sadly, that is not completely true. Unfair and unhealthy rules imposed on girls and women to compete with boys and men is an outrageous, illogical and unacceptable assault on women’s sports rights, established more than 50 years ago. With support from the federal government, this assault needs to end in RI right now. Lucie North Providence
Girls have civil rights. And allowing men in woman’s sports violates womans civil rights. Keely Pawtucket
Girls and boys are physically different, and a biological male has no place in women’s sports. It is unsafe to have biological males in women’s sports and actually ignores the mental health crisis that is central to transgenderism. Lance Johnston

Women and girls have their divisions in sports to facilitate fairness. Biological males have many advantages over biological females; this is an accepted fact! As a female athlete and a mother of two female athletes, I demand fairness and safety in our sports and private spaces. Amy Narragansett

Biological males should not be playing against biological females in almost any sport. Ray Barrington
Intellectually, both sexes are equal, but you can’t argue with the science. In general, males have heavier frames, more upper body muscles, etc.

Female athletes train most of their lives to compete with other killed female athletes. Having males game the system is just wrong. It goes against the basic principle of any sport, which is FAIRNESS.

Also, we need to preserve the safety and dignity for EVERYONE in all private spaces. Having males invade those spaces, is also wrong.

Frankly, I am baffled that this is even an issue requiring any more than AGE-OLD COMMON SENSE!

In a Little League World Series, a Girl was allowed to play. I do not remember the year or Teams, there was a concern. I believe this allowance opened a can of worms. One issue is there should have been a Girl’s Baseball League. The time of “Bad News Bears” should get real. I DONOT SUPPORT OR BELIEVE the allowance of Men/Boys in Woman/Girls Sports, especially in contact Sports. The weaker Men/Boys losing in their respective competition and viewing superiority in women sports MUST BE STOPPED!!! Walter JOHNSTON
Support of this petition is based on pure common sense: there are two genders and two genders only. I cannot, nor ever have, supported the ideology of how one “identifies” their gender versus the reality. President Trump was right to sign an Executive Order reinforcing Title IX and as such, if RIIL wishes to continue bucking the trend, then they deserve to lose that federal support. Joseph West Warwick

Women fought hard for years for their rights. Bio woman need to compete with bio women & men w men. Let the trans have their own category if they are are serious athletes..im sick of this being shoved in our faces and a tiny percentage of confused people claiming they have more rights. Not born the same sex you ” identify with? ” Step aside and start your own group to compete with. Stay in your lane. Robin Warwick

As a brother to four athletic sisters and a father to a competitive soccer player, I’ve seen how sports shape confidence and resilience. Allowing men in women’s sports isn’t fair or safe. Biological differences—like height, strength, and speed—create an uneven playing field, just as performance-enhancing drugs would. Women have been injured competing against stronger, faster male opponents. My sisters and daughter earned their victories through hard work. They deserve fair and safe competition. Women’s sports must stay for women. Joseph Cranston

Boys hold an unfair physical advantage over girls. Girls who could otherwise compete will be excluded. There are only so many slots per gender for sports. Allowing extra boys is not right. Dennis Wakefield
John Charlestown
Title IX protects women and allows fair competition of women and the warping of definitions to include men in women’s sports is unfair and unsafe and undermines women’s rights to compete together. Taking titles and awards and giving them to men that are proclaiming they are women changes the scholarships that women can achieve, not to mention the bodily harm that can come from the mismatched power of the two biological sexes. Women are strong in many ways, especially in endurance, however there is no doubt of the biological strength of men surpasses that women. You must put an end to Gender Identity and resume common sense and Biblical truth. Melanie Kingston
I support this petition because it is the right thing to do, as it is true and common sense to believe there are two and only two genders – male and female. Children who feel like they are other than their biological gender at birth are ostensibly seriously confused and in need of appropriate medical psychiatric and/or psychological tender care. They do not need to be lied to even if lying is believed to be in a child’s best interest. It is not and never can be the right thing to do. Peter & Eileen Bristol

It is unfair to have males and females compete as equals in sports. The bodies of boys and girls are different, with males having a physical advantage over females. Title 9 was intended to give girls an equal chance to participate in sports. Additionally, in some sports, it is dangerous to have males and females compete against each other given the muscle and bone mass, height and weight advantage males have over females of the same age. Helen Richmond

Having two daughters I’m responsible for their safety and to provide them with opportunities. By allowing boys to compete against them in their chosen sports opens them up to safety concerns as well as unfair biological advantages not only on the field but in college scholarship opportunities as well. I will NEVER allow my daughters to compete against a biological male and I urge you to uphold these Title IX changes. Stephanie Smithfield

I don’t approve of boys competing against girls in sports, period. Boys are stronger and more powerful, so whatever event they compete against girls in, the girls are at a huge disadvantage. Oh, and it’s morally wrong in the first place. Especially the sharing locker rooms part…only perverts would support this EVIL activity. I don’t approve of PERVERTS using the guise of “gender identity” to satisfy their carnal lust. If I ever saw it happen, that would be my “hill to die on” and they’d never find the body. Doug Warwick

Common sense needs to prevail. Boys should not be competing against girls in sports at any level. My daughter tried out for here high school boys hockey team she didn’t make the team because the coach said she would get “creamed” out there even though she had the skill to play at that level, she just didn’t have the size or strength. Girls who work hard, who practice and sweat and never quit should not have to play with or against biological males.
