19th in the country in per-capita income and you expect to be taken seriously with comments like “shortage of good-paying jobs”?

9th highest cost of living. If you can make RI money while living in Mississippi, you’ll do well, but it doesn’t work that way, which is why so many people who want to turn their labor into income leave the state.

A somewhat pedestrian effort at spin, Justin. Nowhere in the original post is cost of living mentioned. You can’t have the 19th highest per-capita income in the country and “shortage of good-paying jobs” at the same time.

Now that you have brought cost of living into it, how may Mississippians do you think can take advantage of their lower cost of living while being 50th in per-capita income? That’s a state where a comment about a “shortage of good-paying jobs” might make sense.

“Good paying” is relative, and what makes it relative is how far it goes.
